I have not seen any suggestion the blue label fluid would be detrimental to the 6 speed, but I don't think it's the answer. I've read 18-NA-177 and the older 16-NA-175 and now have found that an updated version of 16-NA-175 has this cryptic advice: Important: Do NOT replace the torque converter or transmission assembly for this condition.
