I don't necessarily mind changing the personality of an existing character - if a modder wants to do that, go ahead. But the mod shouldn't be presented as a "dialogue add-on" then. SDA is in my opinion the best follower mod you can have. It expands the relationship between serana and the dragonborn in an immersive way. I would also suggest to look at the mods the mod author suggests like seranaholic, deadlier serana and a custom armor mod of your choice for her.
