Ideal for camping, fishing and also known for its hot springs, the village is an oasis away from city life.The spa facility was known as Giggling Hot Springs until 2018. It was renamed simply Jemez Hot Springs after the place. I turned off New Mexico State Highway 4, which runs through the spa town, and found ourselves in a parking lot. At the end of the parking lot, the remains of the old bathhouse made their presence felt.Spence Hot Springs is located about 1/4 mile from the parking lot (between mile marker 24 and 25, along Hwy 4). There is no sign for Spence Hot Springs so watch for the mile markers. The parking lot is very small. It has five spots for cars, a spot for an RV and one handicap spot.
